Meet The Optometrists

Dr. Shane Cornelson was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Winnipeg. He went on to complete his Doctorate of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo, graduating in 2017 on the Dean’s Honours list.
During his last year at Waterloo, Shane completed a four-month ocular disease and therapeutics externship at OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, MD. He also had the opportunity to take part in an optometric mission trip with Canadian Vision Care in Jamaica, where the team provided eye examinations and glasses to those in need. Shane finished his primary care rotation in Calgary, where he gained further training in corneal disease and specialty contact lenses.
Shane recently moved to Vancouver in October 2024. During his spare time, you can find him out running, biking, and golfing in the summer or playing hockey and snowboarding in the winter.He looks forward to visiting family back home and spending time at his cabin in West Hawk Lake, MB. Shane has travelled to Barcelona, Croatia, Ireland, London, Mexico, Morocco, Thailand, and hopes to visit many more countries in the future.

Dr. Dina Tourlas brings a strong foundation in eye care and dedication to her patients. Graduating with honours from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, Dr. Tourlas developed her expertise in diverse settings. She completed externships at university clinics and practices in both Northern British Columbia and Ontario, with a focus on complex ocular disease management.
During her training, Dr. Tourlas founded a chapter of Unite for Sight, a global organization dedicated to supporting eye clinics worldwide by providing resources to help eliminate barriers to eye care. She remains committed to raising awareness in her community about the importance of routine eye examinations and a proactive approach to ocular health.
Originally from a small Ontario town, Dr. Tourlas values fostering a warm, community-centered approach, which is central to her patient care philosophy. She began her career in Edmonton, Alberta, and recently relocated with her husband to Vancouver. Dr. Tourlas looks forward to continuing to provide attentive, personalized care, with emphasis on patient education to support long-term eye health.

Dr. Ramsey attended the University of Alberta, Faculty of Science majoring in Biological Sciences. In 2012 he obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Rosenberg School of Optometry in Texas.
Dr. Ramsey completed his first clinical externship at Gimbel Eye Center in Edmonton, focusing on the medical and surgical management of pre and post-operative care of cataract and refractive surgery.
His second clinical rotation took place in South Texas with Sharp Eye Consultants specializing in ocular pathology of geriatric patients, focusing on diseases such as Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy.
In his free time, Dr. Ramsey enjoys travelling, spending time with his wife and children.m description

Dr. Tina Najafi obtained her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Victoria. Following her time at UVic, she pursued her Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She completed her clinical rotations, with an emphasis in ocular disease, in Philadelphia and Chicago. After taking both Canadian and American National Boards, she worked in Chicago by providing eye care to children in underserved communities before returning back to British Columbia.
Dr. Najafi has a special interest in dry eye, digital vision syndrome and ocular migraine treatment. She believes preventative care and patient education play an integral role in maintaining healthy eyes.

Dr. Stephanie Luk was born and raised in Vancouver and spent four years in Chicago for optometry school. She graduated magna cum laude from Illinois College of Optometry, after completing her Bachelors of Science from UBC. During her fourth year rotations, she gained valuable experience in pediatrics, contact lenses, and low vision.
Dr. Luk takes pride in giving individual care and education to each patient, because she knows the importance of vision and healthy eyes.
She is fluent in Cantonese and can speak some Mandarin.
